Events begin at the Ramkota with David Owen’s Legislative Update and the Chamber’s Business Caucus led by former legislator and majority leader Bill Peterson of Fredrikson & Byron.
The Legislative Caucus is your opportunity to voice your opinion on legislative and business related questions. Attendees answer multiple choice questions by text message (or online). All responses are tabulated instantly and displayed as percentages. Not only does this give the Chamber insights on member priorities but the results are shared with Legislators as the collective “voice of business.”
Spend time at the Capitol to view the legislative process and sit in on our late afternoon session that will feature a speaker on an issue being debated in the Legislature. This topic will be determined and announced closer to Business Day.
The Economic Developer’s Reception and Manufacturer’s Showcase -- Jobs and Innovation -- will feature this year’s awards presentations and special guest speaker Bob Sutton, President and CEO of Avera Health. Representing one of the largest employers in the State, Sutton brings a wealth of public policy and management experience to the post. Bob will share his perspectives on leadership, healthcare and business in South Dakota.
