• DWU Performing Arts to Return to Live Audiences

    MITCHELL – After more than 18 months, Dakota Wesleyan University’s performing arts programs will once again be singing, playing and acting for live audiences.
     
    The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music debuted their 2021-22 season as part of Blue & White Days with a Homecoming concert on Sunday, Sept. 26. Performing were the Wesleyan Choir, the Wesleyan Bells, the Highlanders and the Wesleyan Band.
     
    This year’s upcoming musical performances include:
    LyricWood Halloween Concert, Sunday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m.
    DWU Christmas Concert, Saturday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m.
    Midwinter Concert, Sunday, Feb. 27, 4 p.m.
    LyricWood Concert, Sunday, Mar. 20, 4 p.m.
    Spring Concert, Sunday, Apr. 24, 4 p.m.
     
    Also, after more than a year of being unable to deliver live performances, the Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Theatre has a full schedule of events. To kick off the season is “Noises Off,” the raucous British comedy by Michael Frayn, on Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 15-16 and 22-23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, Oct. 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. in the DWU Black Box Theatre.
     
    This year’s theatrical performances and events include:
                Haunted House fundraiser, Oct. 28-31, 7 p.m.
    All Together Now musical revue fundraiser, Nov. 12-13, 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 14, 2 p.m.
                Pictures with Santa & Friends fundraiser, Dec. 9-11
                “Cake” by Bekah Brunstetter, Feb. 11-14
                “Rock of Ages” by Chris D'Arienzo, Apr. 1-3 and 8-10
