Chamber hires event coordinator
The Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce has hired Katie Buschbach as the events coordinator, a new position within the organization.
“We are excited to have found someone with such enthusiasm and a sales-oriented attitude,” said Sonya Moller, director of the Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau. “I think Katie will be an asset to our team.”
Hiring for the events coordinator position is the final step in a reconfiguration of the CVB. Buschbach will be responsible for sales and marketing of Mitchell as a site for conferences, meetings, athletics and other special events with the goal of increasing overnight hotel stays and generating additional sales and entertainment tax dollars in the community.
Buschbach and her husband, Matt, have lived in Mitchell for 14 years, and they have two children. She will begin her position May 6.
The CVB is a division of the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce.
