    Job Description
    Unit Directors have one of the most challenging and rewarding positions at Abbott House.  They are the leader of their units.  They oversee the staff members and girls in the area they are supervising ensuring that high standards of safety and special precautions are taken to prevent harm or injury to residents or staff.  In addition, they work with staff and girls to implement and accomplish all treatment objectives the children need.  They ensure  the daily needs of all children are met.  Unit Directors model best practices and coach their staff to be the best they can be.
    Wage Range   Starts at $18/hour based on experience. A complete benefit package is included for full-time employees.
    1. Minimum of two years’ experience in residential treatment.  Experience is preferred but willing to train individuals interested in working with youth.
    2. Ability to work with, care for and win the respect of young people.
    3. Effectively interact with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the client population.
    1. Provide direct therapeutic services to children.
    2. Demonstrates training and program proficiency with the Interaction and Motivation program used by the agency, consults with direct care staff regarding the program, and uses teaching interactions in their own work with youth.
    3. Ensure the continuity of child care staff competence in achieving objectives and carry out responsibilities through effective development, training, and motivation of residential staff.
    4. Maintain positive communication with parents, referring agencies and collateral agency resources which includes preparing timely and accurate documentation.
    5. Intervention in crisis situations by responding appropriately.
