Mitchell Area Manufactures Association
The Mitchell Area Manufacturer's Association was founded to advance the interests of manufacturing in the Mitchell SD area and to develop and promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and practices pertaining to the issues of business management.
To be a member of the Mitchell Area Manufacturers Association the member must export over 50% of their locally manufactured product out of South Dakota.

The Mitchell facility of Hendrickson has been meeting the suspension needs of trailer builders around the world for over 20 years. Hendrickson feels strongly about promoting from within the organization. They offer tuition assistance, on and off-site training, and an internal job posting system for all internal employees. Employees are involved in both the design and delivery of training.

Trail King Industries, a local manufacturer of specialty trailers for commercial and construction business offers the largest variety and most diverse product line in the industry. Trail King has been in business in Mitchell since 1977.
Trail King has an extensive Workforce Recruitment Program designed to prepare you for a rewarding career with Trail King. Through a scholarship program with Mitchell Technical Institute (MTI) and North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), in conjunction with a paid internship while you're going to school, you'll receive training and hands-on experience required for your career in manufacturing.
POET Biorefining
POET Biorefining, located near Loomis, SD began operations in December 2006. The state-of-the-art ethanol production facility will consume approximately 24 million bushels of locally-grown corn to produce 68 million gallons of ethanol annually. POET Biorefining in Mitchell employs approximately 40 people, enhancing the local economy with improved corn prices, value-added markets for farmers, good-paying jobs, and increased local tax revenue.
